Amul celebrates Women’s Reservation Bill passage in creative doodle; Pic goes viral

Amul, a popular dairy brand which is also known for doodles, has once again celebrated the passage of the historic Women’s Reservation Bill in the Parliament. It should be mentioned here that the Parliament passed the historic Women’s Reservation Bill on Thursday. The bill, to reserve one-third of seats in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies for women, received the Parliamentary nod after the Rajya Sabha voted unanimously in favour of it. Unlike the Lok Sabha, where two of the 456 MPs present in the House had voted against the bill, all the 214 lawmakers in the Rajya Sabha voted in its favour on Thursday, September 21.Amul has often come up with doodles which has resonated the sentiments of the country through art. Diljit Dosanjh made history by being the first Indian performer to take the stage at Coachella, an American music festival. The audience could be seen dancing to some desi beats in clips and photographs from his performance uploaded on the festival’s official account.Following the historic performance, Amul shared a unique Instagram post honouring the singer’s achievement. Coachella is one of the most well-known music festivals in the world, and it takes place annually over two weekends in California. This year’s festival features a lineup of some of the biggest South Asian performers, including Ali Sethi, a vocalist best known for his work on ‘Pasoori’. Additionally, there will be performances from Kid Laroi, Charli XCX, Labrinth, Frank Ocean, Underworld, Jai Wolf, Joy Crookes, and Jai Paul who are from other countriesThe Women’s Reservation Bill, 2023, or the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam’ was passed in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday, 20th September 2023. It was then passed by the Rajya Sabha as well, where it received unanimous support. The Women Reservation Bill seeks to reserve one-third or 33% of all seats for women in the Lok Sabha and the state legislative assemblies. After the Parliament’s approval, all that remain’s is the President’s signature. Although its implementation may take some time, this Bill seems to have given people much cause to celebrate.
