Ind vs Eng: Virat Kohli will end century drought in England: Virender Sehwag

Ind vs Eng Sehwag said in a conversation with Dainik Jagran that it is true that Kohli has not scored a century for a long time. But it is not that he is not in form at all. Kohli is scoring runs but we have hope from him.

Shobhit Chaturvedi, New Delhi. Virat Kohli, the former captain of the Indian team, has been battling his poor form for some time and for the last two and a half years, his bat has not scored a century. However, former team opener Virender Sehwag is hopeful that Kohli will end his century drought in the upcoming series against England and score runs for the team.

Kohli made his last Test century against Bangladesh in the Day-Night Test match played in Kolkata in November 2019. Since then he has not been able to score a century. India have to play the rescheduled fifth Test match against England on July 1. This match will be telecast on Sony Six channel. The Indian team is currently leading 2-1 in this series. After the Test series, a three-match T20 and three-match ODI series are to be played between the two teams.

Regarding Kohli’s form, Sehwag said in a conversation with Dainik Jagran, ‘It is true that Kohli has not scored a century for a long time. But it is not that he is not in form at all. Kohli is scoring runs, but we have hope for him as he scores centuries and scores runs. Kohli is scoring 50-60 runs. But it is time he can do better as he is no longer under the pressure of captaincy and selection. I think he will score big when he comes out to play against England. He has the hunger to score runs and I am sure he will do better in Test matches.

The England team is currently in good form and defeating them at home is not going to be easy for India. Asked how challenging it would be for India to face the current England team compared to last year, Sehwag said, “England is a very good team, but still it can be beaten.” There are definitely two-three players in his batting who can turn the tide of the match. Joe Root is in excellent form, captain Ben Stokes plays aggressively. Jonny Bairstow has also played the best innings of his career. Overall, there are three-four England players who make a Test match exciting, which is fun to watch. It will be England’s best Test team but India is also a better team and they can beat the hosts.
